Main Street On The Sony Studio Lot
Early in my career when I worked in the Hollywood Entertainment industry, I had the pleasure of getting to work on the Sony studio lot.
In the middle of the lot was a cobblestone Main Street lined with storefronts like a soda fountain and ice cream parlor, and a women’s hat department. It looked as if it was pulled directly out of the iconic movie “Singing In The Rain” with Gene Kelly.
When family and friends would visit, they would think those storefronts were real, but it was just one big set.
In other words, it was just smoke and mirrors…which is expected in Hollywood. But never in business. As “experts” in our fields it is important that we walk our talk.
Building trust in the marketplace takes years, but it only takes a few seconds to lose it and that can impact a brand forever.
Always pull back the red curtains before buying a program. Ask around and get references. When people ask me for references, I am always impressed and immediately send them to several past and current clients. Protect your brand.
